| Our Program For IL 2002
Many of you already know' the appointment that we devote for the defense of the environment. We think however can be useful, in to start a new year to make the point on the objectives that there are preset for this 2002.
A big number of factors threatens the maintenance of the biodiversity': the destruction of the natural habitats, the illegal commerce, the poaching, the climatic changes. Around 34000 kinds
vegetables risk to disappear and thousand of animal and vegetable kind risk to extinguish him without not even having been open.
Our first action and' is that to individualize the crucial environments to protect the variety' of the animal and vegetable kinds that you/they live our planet: it deals with 200 ecoregionis (the "Global 200") in which we will assemble all of our efforts for the year in progress. A lot of they will be the activities' that they will hock us in the next months and that we can realize only thanks to the contributions of all the Partners WWF, in Italy and in the world (to today they are around 6 million). We are speaking of actions practices and you contemplate on the territory (you plan on the field) but also of initiatives with course more' ample, you finalize to influence the political and industrial choices promoting politics of maintenance and a constructive dialogue with the institutions. But let's see her with great detail:
 4 the priorities' of action: forests, oceans and coasts, water's ecosystems
sweet, animal kind;
2 the world initiatives: against the toxic refusals and against the gases it shuts that
they provoke the climatic changes;
200 the ecoregionis identified ("Global 200") by the experts as essential for the maintenance of the biodiversity' to global level.
During the year we will adjourn you footstep for footstep on to rotate of these various projects giving you so' the possibility' to follow with us all the tappes that we will cross, the objectives that we will succeed in reaching the met obstacles. |
