Modifications and integrations to the text of the disciplinary one of production of the denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana" recognized with decree ministerial 20 May 1999.

Seen the decree of the President of the Republic April 20 th 1994, n.348, with which and' is emanated the bringing rule her
discipline of the procedure of recognition of the denominations of origin of the wines; Seen the decree ministerial 20 May 1999 with which and' is recognized the denomination of origin checked of the wines "Sovana" and approved the relative disciplinary of production, published in the Official Gazette of June 1 st 1999 - general series - n. 126; Seen the decree of the President of the Republic September 13 th 1999, bringing "New denominations of the Office and the Minister of the
agricultural and forest politics"; Sees her/it note of the region Tuscany n. 103/30493 of October 5 th 1999, with which some interpretative doubts are manifested regarding the typologies of product of which to the articles 1, 2,4, 5 and 6 of the text of the disciplinary one of production of the denomination of origin checked of the wines "Sovana"; Seen the positive opinion expressed by the national Committee for the guardianship and the exploitation of the denominations of origin and the geographical indications typical of the wines in the reunion of 22 October 21e th 1999, regarding the amendments introduced by the region Tuscany, related to the succitatis you articulate 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 of the disciplinary one of production of the denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana"; Held therefore to have to proceed, on express train order of the national Committee for the guardianship and the exploitation of the denominations of origin and the geographical indications typical of the wines, to the changes and integrations of the aforesaid articles;

The disciplinary one of production of the denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana", attached to the ministerial decree 20
May 1999 is published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic - general series - n. 126 of June 1 st 1999, the articles 1 you/he/she is modified to, 2, 4, 5 and 6, the same are integrally replaced by the text I approach brought.
They stay unchanged the articles 3, 7 and 8 of the text of the disciplinary one of production as well as' all the contained dispositions in the
decree May 20 th 1999 related to the "recognition of the denomination of origin checked of the wines '' Sovana ''."

DISCIPLINARY OF PRODUCTION OF THE WINES
TO DENOMINATION OF CHECKED ORIGIN "SOVANA"
Art. 1.
The denomination of checked origin "Sovana" and' reserved to the wines that answer to the conditions and the anticipated requisite from the
disciplinary present of production for the following typologies: red, superior red, red reserve and rosy.
For the typologies "Sovana" superior red and "Sovana" red reserve and' allowed, if the requisite apply of which to the following art. 2, the mention of one of the following vines: Sangiovese, Aleatico, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.
Art. 2.
The denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana" you/they must be gets from the grapes produced from the having vineyards in the circle
business, the following composition ampelografica: wines red, superior and rosy (without the specification of the vine) red:
Sangiovese: at least 50%. You/they can compete to the production of mottos wines the grapes of the berry vines redhead, not aromatic, recommended and authorized in the province of Grosseto and produced in the zone of delimited production
in the following art. 3 thin to a maximum of 50%.
The denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana" superior red and "Sovana" red reserve, with the mention of one of the
following vines: Sangiovese, Aleatico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, must be get from grapes coming from the correspondents vines for at least him 85%. You/they can compete, thin to a maximum of 15%, the grapes of the berry vines redhead, not aromatic, recommended authorized e/o in the province of Grosseto.

Art. 4.
The environmental conditions and of crop of the vineyards destined wines of checked origin to the production of the denomination "Sovana" you/they must be those normal of the zone of production and, however, fit to confer to the grapes and the derived wines the specific characteristics of quality.' I am therefore to consider him fit the vineyards situated in terrestrial of favorable position and exposure, with exclusion of those damp or not sufficiently sunny. The density' of plant must be that generally used in operation of the peculiar characteristics of the grapes and the wines; for the new fittingses and the reimpiantis the density' of the fetterses it is not able' to be inferior to 3.300 plants to hectare. The orders of plant, the forms of breeding allowed are those
already' in use in the zone.

The maximum production of hectare grape and the title alcolometrico

Typology "Sovana"

In the favorable years grapes' quantities gotten and to destine wines of origin to the production of the denomination
checked "Sovana" you/they must have brought in the limits of which above provided that' the global production doesn't overcome of 20% the limits themselves, firm staying the limits made grape / wine for the quantities of which drawn aside himself/herself/themselves. Art. 5.
The operations of vinificazione and aging must have effected within the zone of production of which to the preceding art. 3.
The imbottigliamento must have effected in the whole province of Grosseto. If the grapes of the existing vineyards in business circle are used for the production of different anticipated typologies by the art.1 and' allowed to destine, through select vendemmiale, a part of the grapes to the production of the typology "red" and of the typology "rosy" provided that' results respected the requisite set from the disciplinary present both for the grapes separately destined typology to a date and for the remaining grapes of the same vineyard destined to other typology. Red and rosy: Made uva/vino70% maximum Production tonn./It has vino/ettaro77 hl
Rossosuperiore and superior red with the mention of the vine: Made uva/vino70% maximum Production tonn./It has wine / hectare 63 hls
If the surrender grape / wine overcomes the limit above suitable, but not over 75%, even if the hectare production stays below the allowed maximum limit, the excess doesn't have the right to the denomination of checked origin "Sovana." Over said limit

The denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana" red, gotten by grapes that they assure a title alcolometrico volumico

"Sovana" superior Sangiovese or "Sovana" Sangiovese reserves:
- color: red extending ruby to the pomegranate with the aging;
- odor: wine, sometimes with notes yielded of cherry and viola;
- taste: dry, full-bodied, harmonic;
- title alcolometrico least total volumico: 12,00% vol.;
- acidity' total least: 4,50 g/ls;
- extract dry clean minimum: 22 g/ls.
"Sovana" superior Aleatico or "Sovana" Aleatico reserves:
- color: red ruby of good intensity';
- odor: wine, characteristic;
- taste: harmonic and balanced;
- title alcolometrico least total volumico: 12,00% vol. of cuialmeno 9,50 develops;
- acidity' total least: 4,50 g/ls;
- extract dry clean minimum: 22 g/ls.
"Sovana" superior Cabernet Sauvignon or "Sovana" Cabernet Sauvignon reserves:
- color: red intense with purplish reflexes, extending to the pomegranate with the aging;
- odor: wine with known speziate;
- taste: full-bodied, savory, dry, justly tannico;
- title alcolometrico least total volumico: 12,00% vol.;
- acidity' total least: 4,50 g/ls;
- extract dry clean minimum: 22 g/ls.
"Sovana" superior Merlot or "Sovana" Merlot reserves:
- color: red with purplish reflexes, extending to the pomegranate with the aging;
- odor: typical with yielded notes;
- taste: ample and velvety;
- title alcolometrico least total volumico: 12,00% vol.;
- acidity' total least: 4,50 g/ls;
- extract dry clean minimum: 20 g/ls.
"Sovana" Rosy:
- color: rosy with reflexes red ruby;
- odor: wine, delicate, with intense yielded notes;
- taste: harmonious, slightly vinegary;
- title alcolometrico least total volumico 11,00% vol.;
- acidity' total least: 5,00 g/ls;
- extract dry clean minimum: 16 g/ls.
And' faculty' of the Office for the agricultural politics, national Committee for the guardianship and the exploitation of the denomination of origins and the geographical indications typical of the wines, to modify the limits of the acidity' total and of the clean dry extract with really decree. In relationship to the possible maintenance in wood containers the taste of the wines is able' to reveal light wood sign.

Recognition of the denomination of origin checked of the wines "Sovana" and approval of the relative disciplinary of production.
THE EXECUTIVE
head of the administrative section of the national Committee for the guardianship and the exploitation of the denominations of origin and the
geographical indications typical of the wines and person responsible of the procedure
Seen the decree of the President of the Republic July 12 th 1963, n.930, container the norms for the guardianship of the denominations of origin of the wines; Sees the law February 10 th 1992, n. 164, bringing new discipline of the denominations of origin of the wines;
Seen the decree of the President of the Republic April 20 th 1994, n.348, with which and' is emanated the rule bringing discipline of the procedure of recognition of the denominations of origin of the wines; Sees the decrees of realization, till now emanated,
of the aforesaid law; Sees the law June 16 th 1998, n. 193, bringing change to the art. 7 of the law February 10 th 1992, n. 164;
Sees the understood question to get the recognition of the denomination of checked origin "Sovana", introduced by her/it
provincial federation coldiretti of Grosseto, from the Confederation Italian agriculturists of Grosseto and from the Confagricoltura union provincial agriculturists of Grosseto, done proper from the provincial administration of Grosseto and equipped by the opinion
of the region Tuscany; Sees the favorable opinion of the national Committee for the guardianship and the exploitation of the denominations of
origin and of the geographical indications typical of the wines on her above suitable question and the proposal of the relative disciplinary of
production of the denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana", published in the Official Gazette n. 59 of March 12 th 1999; Held therefore necessary to owe him to proceed to the recognition of the denomination of checked origin
"Sovana" and to the approval of the relative disciplinary of production of the wines in matter, in conformity' to the express opinion and
to the proposal formulated by the sopracitato Committee; Considered that the art. 4 of the rule April 20 th 1994, n. 348,
pertaining to the procedure for the recognition of the denominations of origin and the approval of the disciplinary ones of production, foresees that the disciplinary ones of production are approved and recognized with decree of the executive responsible of the
procedure; It decrees:
Art. 1.
And' recognized the denomination of checked origin "Sovana" and and' approved, in the attached text to the present decree, the relative disciplinary of production. The denomination of checked origin "Sovana" and' reserved to the wines that answer to the conditions and the established requisite in the disciplinary one of production of which to the comina 1 of the present article whose norms go into effect to elapse from the vintage 1999.
Art. 2.
The subjects that intend it sets in commerce, beginning from the vintage 1999, the wines with the denomination of checked origin
"Sovana", they are kept to effect the report of the respective terrestrial vitati, within the sixtieth day from the date of
publication of the present decree, to the senses and for the effects of the art. 15 of the law February 10 th 1992, n. 164, bringing norms
related to the bulletin-board of the vineyards and to the report of the grapes.
Art. 3.
The vineyards reported to the senses of the preceding art. 2, only for the year 1999, can be enrolled to provisional title, in the anticipated bulletin-board from the art. 15 of the law February 10 th 1992, n. 164, if, in opinion of the technical organs of the region Tuscany, results
sufficiently documented, also not having been effected yet, for impossibility' technique, the checks of fitness'
anticipated from the normative in force.
Art. 4.
You/they can be enrolled to the bulletin-board of the vineyards, for a three year-old maximum period beginning from the vintage 1999, also the
surfaces vitate in whose aspired they are different present grapevines of vines from those suitable in the art. 2 of the united disciplinary of production
provided that' the presence, in the said vineyards, of different grapevines from those anticipated from the aforesaid art. 2, don't result to be superior to the 20% of the
total of the basic same ampelografica, in conformity' of the actual dispositions of the normative U.Es.
To expire some aforesaid transitory period, the vineyards of which will be cancelled of office by the respective bulletin-board to the preceding paragraph, if the interested producers have not provided to introduce, to said vineyards, the necessary changes for
to conform their composition ampelografica to the dispositions of which to the art. 2 of the attached disciplinary of production,
giving immediate communication of it to the competent office of the regional assessorato to the agriculture, to the goals of the execution
of the technical accertarnentis of fitness.' The vineyards of which to the preceding paragraph, that following the execution of the technical checks, doesn't result conforming to the united disciplinary, is cancelled of office by the relative bulletin-board.
Art. 5.
Whoever produces, he/she sells, it sets in sale or however it distributes for the consumption wines with the denomination of
checked origin "Sovana" and' kept, to norm of law, to the observance of the conditions and the established requisite in the attached one
disciplinary.
The present decree will be' published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic. Rome, May 20 th 1999

DISCIPLINARY OF PRODUCTION OF THE DENOMINATION
OF CHECKED ORIGIN "SOVANA"
Art. 1.
The denomination of checked origin "Sovana" and' reserved to the wines that answer to the conditions and the requisite prescribed by the
disciplinary present of production for the following typologies: red, superior red, red reserve and rosy.
For the first three typologies, in red place of the indication, and' allowed, when the requisite apply of which to the following one
article, the mention of the following vines: Sangiovese, Aleatico, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.
Art. 2.
The denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana" you/they must be gets from the grapes produced from the having vineyards in the circle
business, the following composition ampelografica:
wines red, superior and rosy (without the specification of vine) red:
Sangiovese: at least 50%. You/they can compete to the production of mottos wines the grapes of the berry vines redhead, not aromatic, recommended authorized e/o in the province of Grosseto and produced in the zone of production delimited in the following art. 3 thin to a maximum of 50%.
The wines to D.O.C. "Sovana" superior red with the mention of one of the following vines: Sangiovese, Aleatico, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, must be gets from grapes coming from the correspondents vines for at least him 85%. You/they can compete, up to a maximum of 15%, the grapes of the berry vines redhead, not aromatic, recommended authorized e/o for the province of Grosseto.
Art. 3.
The zone of production of the fit grapes to the production of the denomination wines of checked origin "Sovana" and' situated inside the province of Grosseto and he/she understands in full the communes of Pitigliano, Sorano and part of the commune of
Manciano.
The delimitation begins: to north from the intersection of the communes of Sorano, Semproniano and Manciano, it continues to long west
the town limit of Manciano up to the provincial road of the Follonata. It goes down to south forwarding himself/herself/itself in the commune of Manciano, for the old road up to the inhabited area of Knoll Huts. From this place' the line of delimitation still goes down to south along the road for Baths of Saturnia, thin to again meet the provincial road of the Follonata that follows up to the ditch Adorned with stars.It goes up again the course of motto ditch up to quota 191, continuous to south for the road Camporeccia up to the inhabited area of Farms of Montemerano, crosses the government road n. 323, continuous, diverting southwest, along the old road Customs and it reaches the farm Equine. For the road of the Loose ones it reaches the river Albegna in correspondence of the confluence of the ditch Vivavio.
It continues to south along the course of the river Albegna up to the intersection with the road of reclamation n. 17. It follows said passing road for houses of the Loose one, it continues then for the road of reclamation n. 19 that it passes for houses Pinzuti, for Casalnuovo and houses
I lean Lepraio (quota 39). The delimitation follows on the government road n. 74 up to the place' Sgrillozzo and it grafts him in her

If the surrender grape / wine overcomes the limits of which above, but not over 75%, even if the hectare production stays below the maximum allowed, the excess doesn't have the right to the denomination of checked origin. Over said limit the right decays to the D.O.C. for the whole game. The red wines with the specifications of the vine, that have been object of aging in wood barrel, for a non inferior period to twenty-four months, and of a period of refinement in non inferior bottle to six months, you/they can be designate with the mention "reserve." Red wines, gotten by grapes that they assure a title alcolometrico least disposition of 11,50 and without the specification of the vine, you/they can be designate with the mention "Superior."
For the following wines the immission to the consumption and' allowed apiece only beginning from the date of them following suitable:
