The association "The Riders of Thin Saint", been born in 1994, you/he/she has intended to propose ancient events of his/her medieval history to the city of St. Gimignano. The riders' group, reporting himself/herself/itself to documents of the XIII century, that you/they prove the share of riders sangimignanesi to the battles of Montaperti (1260) and Campaldino (1289), you/he/she has wanted to propose some aspects of the chivalrous tradition, also bringing in life the four historical regions of St. Giovanni, Plaza, CasteIlo, St. Matteo. The name of "The Riders of Thin Saint" it honors Thin of the Ciardis, " the dead girl in odor of holiness March 12 th 1253 and become compatrona of the city.
