The "Rainbow Gathering" ("Assembly of the rainbow"), annual camping of the hippies, is held in mountain between Parish and Riolunato. The "new elves" I am an international community that recalls him the American counterculture of the sixties and preaches peace, love and life "illuminated."

There am no leader, there is not even a true organization: the hundred people that I/you/they are to the field they have autonomously arrived to you; they loves to say "by chance", but in reality the communication street Internet is very active and adjourned. No heads and no rules, therefore, but some norms, especially in subject of hygiene, relatively to the present animals and the kitchens, they are also held necessary from who with the norms it has little familiarity (but the contested rules are alone those of the capitalistic system, a little in a friendly way called a great deal "Babylon"). The kitchen is "vegana": it means that besides not eating meat or fish, eggs, honey, sugar and latticini are also banished; allowed solo vegetable, produced natural, pasta and cooked pizza breads in the ovens on purpose built. For his/her/their children there is a kitchen apart, because their schedules are different from those of the adults. No drugs, assure, and even alcoholic: they furnish a type of energy that profit is not held by the elves.

No rules even on as to spend the time: the guests of the field spend their day in liberty, but there are the possibility to participate in laboratories manual driven type workshop, and when a problem introduces him, you/he/she is discussed and resolved in community sessions in which unanimity is sought, as in the ancient direct democracies. The good course of the field founds him on the initiative of the single ones and on the enthusiasm of the presents: they are voluntary to cook for all in the great kitchen prepared to the entry of the field, they are still voluntary to play with his/her children or to undertake to go down to shop. Also the fun and the evening relax are spontaneous: many boys gather him around the fire to sing and to play; some are improvised jugglers, others are ventured in acrobatic gymnastic figures.

They have gone down in country around two hundred between new elves and representatives of the others 'tribe' of the assembly, welcomed with crescentine and other mountain (very you appreciate) gastronomic specialties prepared by the Commune and from voluntary of the country. In a full plaza of spectators, some typical representations of the assembly are developed as the dance of the peace.
