Departing from Grosseto the Provincial n° follows him 40, therefore, I crossed around 5 Kms, he turns to the left following the indication "Tower Trap."
The Estate You Trap:
The history of the Trap is controversial, and its reconstruction is made also difficult by the fact that with the 1966 Ombrone flood you/he/she has been damaged the business file. According to some sources, the construction would go up again at the end of 1300, when the tower was erect for order of the Commune in Siena. The Tower, was erect in 1283 from Meo Guiducci of Torrenieri as coastal small fortress, for order of the Commune in Siena. In origin it was tall more than 30 ms.; this fact, united to his/her particular geographical position, it made the building "strategic" for his/her ample sight. Toward halves last century was dejected the whole superior part, and architecturally more characteristic, of the tower, while the various interventions operated in the time have transformed the native building in built rural. Some ancient structure is observable only the shoe today base in bricks. And' documented the presence in zone of salt pans and another small tower (Tower of the Salt), of which few traces remain only, while the presence of channels testifies the tied up interventions to the work of reclamation of the lowland grossetana. In epoch medicea, in 1531, the tower is quoted both as tower of sighting and bunker, both as center of the salt pans. In origin the tower rose on the shore of the sea, to the mouth of the River Ombrone, to protection of a dock; its assignment was to protect the coast and the salt pans from the assaults of the pirates. The actual position of the Tower of the Trap, to 4,5 kms from the coast, it testifies the advancement of the line of coast, due to the abundant one I introduce of alluvial material from the Ombrone. The examination of the historical cartography allows to verify that the tower was not already anymore on the coast in the XVIII century. The name "Trap" it seems you derive from the fact that in the small inlet that formed, the mouth of the Ombrone, was anciently, possible to take in trap the ships of the Turks that ventured you; others affirm that the term draws origin from the difficult environmental conditions that, for a long time you/they have characterized this marshy zone making nearly the crossing of it impossible during the rainiest periods. The area of the Trap is entirely inclusive within the confinements of the Natural Park of the Maremma. And' an area characterized by the presence of coastal ponds with brackish water, from residual of wood and from small edges of pineta. In his/her more inside part it is today still practised the breeding of the wild (horses and cattle maremmani) livestock, for work of the "pockmarks.
