The show "Fires of Anghiari", that on May 10 is inaugurated in the rooms of the National Museum of Building Taglieschi, introduces a choice panning of the production anghiarese of fire weapons from the seven hundred one to the eight hundred, together to exemplary of comparison, of origin bresciana and of zones of the Appennino tosco emiliano and of central Italy.
Through the exposure of sessantasei pieces, among rifles, guns and plates, both to stone focaia, both to glare, the mastery of builders and decorators of the local gunsmiths is remembered, that did of the Tuscan town a famous center of the production armiera for about two centuries, with the presence of real dynasties of artisan-artists, what the families Keepers, Matassi, Vallini, Carboncelli and others.
You examines the whole history of the "School Anghiarese", through the evolution of the stone mechanism focaia (in the variations to the Florentine, to the Roman, and to the modern one), to conclude with that to glare percussion, invented in the eight hundred, century that marks the end of this particular form of production, supplanted by the various systems to retrocarica and from the development by now unstoppable of the industrial techniques.

Other finality of the show is to propose this revaluation exclusively privileging deriving pieces from the territory aretino, from public collections as the harvest of weapons of the National Museum of art Medioevale and Modern of Arezzo, from that less note but not less main point than the Bank of Cooperative Credit of Anghiari and Coop and from some private collectors.
The concept informant therefore and to bring to the light for the time being in temporary way, how much also in the sector oplologico has been saved and preserved kind in the deprived collections and to make him/it enjoyable from the vast public.
Partly the material, and precisely the pieces of the National Museum of Arezzo, that originates from ancient deprived collections, aretine, then you gives to the city, it is already available and already known for a long time.
As it regards the collection of the Bank of Cooperative Credit of Anghiari and Coop, the operation with which you/he/she has acquired her years or I am it reenters among the meritorious activities of "institute" with which, for a long time we could say, Institutes of Credit and banking Foundations sustain to various title the Italian cultural patrimony, with restaurations, shows shares, different demonstrations, and constituting harvests and collections of works of art, is them paintings, statues, ceramics, coins or, as in our case, of weapons. In this activity such institutions have taken the place that has been of the ruling families or of the noble in the last centuries, and having than the great industrial and commercial middle class, of which realities stay as the Museum Stibbert, the Poldi Pezzoli and so many other examples, in Italy and out.
The collection of the Bank normally is not however open to the public and the occasion of the show it is undoubtedly interesting and together representative of the sensibility of the institute of credit toward the inhabitants of the territory in which work and the scientific and cultural world generally.
This to show how much material you/he/she can still be found again on the spot and in the hope that the imput produced by the show sensitizes collectors and researchers to share with the institutions his/her own experiences, to reach the end point that the initiative proposed him and that it will represent the new point of departure for the knowledge of the production anghiarese.

To the closing of the show a stable structure of search and study will be institutionalized, the Center of Documentation on the Weapons Anghiaresi, that will be organized by the Superintendence of Arezzo, with the collaboration of other Corporate body and the support of the central structures of the Office for the Good and the Cultural Activities, to be able to pick up every news or documentation, written and figurative on the activity and the production of the gunsmiths anghiaresi, also with reference to the documents of file to reach the complete catalog of all the weapons and parts of known weapons, any is the actual position, that you/they will opportunely be filed and you scientifically study according to the systems and the formalities more adjourned of it.
Naturally the center can welcome in deposit and for temporary exposures all that pieces that Corporate body and collectors of every origin they will want to make available.
The harvest of everything how much you/he/she has been and you/he/she will be published on the matter it will enter to make part of a specialistic library devoted to the oplologia and the first sign of this renewed interest it is the reprint anastatica of the work published by Marcello Terenzi in 1972, The Gunsmiths Anghiaresi in the centuries XVIII and XIX, that it makes integral part, in reproduction anastatica, of the catalog of the show.

The catalog of the show "Fires of Anghiari, weapons and gunsmiths anghiaresi from the XVIII to the XIX century", edited by Daniel Diotallevi, edition Petruzzi, is on sale to 70 European.
Only during the show, that November 10 th 2003 will be closed, it is purchasable near Building Marzocco, 1 to the European special price of 40.
It deals with a volume of 336 pags., elegantly bound, with sovracoperta, that contains the color photographs with relative cards of all the exposed pieces. In the second part introduces the reprint anastatica of the work of Marcello Terenzi "The Gunsmiths Anghiaresi in the centuries XVIII and XIX", it edits in 1974.
