The Carnival of Viareggio with its 133 years of history is without doubt the folk and carnival demonstration more note in Italy, among the most important demonstrations in Europe and it recalls hundreds of thousand of spectators coming from Italy and from the foreign countries.
The Carnival 2006 are a party to the insignia of the peace, of the love and of the solidarity. Undisputed protagonists of the spectacular parades are once more the giants of cartapesta.
The demonstration, scheduled from on February 12 to March 5, it proposes a series of appointments of great interest for adults and children.
12, 19, 26, 28 February and on March 5 unthread on the great stage of the sea avenues eight constructions of before category (the greatest, weigh around forty tons each), a complex of opening, a wagon out contest and four constructions of second category (two wagons and two disguised complexes).
Besides ten masquerades in group (composed every by eight elements in tall cartapesta around three meters), ten isolated masks and some local masquerades.
And then complexes and gangs folcloristiche, groups of animation with the most original masks. In short, the party that we wait for there to find, with so much joy and cordiality, the all according to the purest tradition of the Carnival viareggino.
But Carnival doesn't mean only cartapesta: they are expected also the local parties and the veglionis in mask organized by the best places of the Versilia. A dive in the carnival transgression is coming to Viareggio mandatory!
Of relief the program reserved to the shows and to the culture, the musical comedies in vernacular, the appointments enogastronomici in the best restaurants in the city and so many other important initiatives.
Also fed the list of the sporting demonstrations. Among these the 58° World Tournament of juvenile Kick "Cup Carnival."
